Jamal Lewis Out

Jamal Lewis will sit out the next two weeks because of a nagging hip injury.

Lewis has been bothered by a strained left hip flexor. He began training camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list after injuring himself running sprints in late July, but played in the first two preseason games.

Against New York and Philadelphia, he totaled 65 yards on 15 carries.

Ravens Down to 53

Quarterbacks Brian St. Pierre and Drew Olson were among 21 players cut by the Baltimore Ravens, who also placed guard Brian Rimpf on injured reserve, ending his season.

The moves brought the Ravens to the mandated 53-man limit, although the team is certain to shuffle the roster before opening the season Sept. 10 at Tampa Bay. By cutting St. Pierre and Olson, Baltimore has only two quarterbacks -- starter Steve McNair and backup Kyle Boller.
